Urban explorers in the UK have discovered a house in the shape of a boot buried deep within some forests there. The structure has similarities to the one described in the nursery rhyme about the old woman who lived in a shoe.
The minuscule property, which is covered in moss and appears to have been neglected for decades, as evidenced by the fact that leaves and vines have begun climbing the walls of the home to return it to its natural state.
The boot’s stone shape appears to have been fully preserved, however the roof of the boot is made of wood and looks like it’s seen better days.
Explorers who peered in through the window were able to see that a portion of the building had caved in, making it an unsafe place to live or even play in, according to the Abandoned UK Facebook page, which claims that a woman had lived inside the building in the 1950s.

The explorers explained their accomplishment in a post that they made on Facebook. They said, “This took some finding but we did it, so after going through the woods for ages attempting to find the boot, we finally discovered it at the foot of a steep cliff.”
“We eventually made it down in one piece, and at certain points it felt almost like we were rock climbing. It would appear that a female occupant called the boot home in the 1950s.
Although there is nothing that explicitly states this, this is consistent with what we have read online.
“Children used to play on the boot in the 1970s and 1980s as well; nevertheless, this is unquestionably something distinct, and a lot of attention to detail went into developing it. The little film can be found below; we hope you enjoy it!
Fans were reminded of the children’s nursery rhyme about the “lady who lived in a shoe” when they heard the tale of the woman who resided in the unusual dwelling.
One commenter questioned whether or not this is the origin of the story they heard as a youngster that goes, “There was an old woman who lived in a shoe.”
Someone else wrote: “I can’t help but wonder whether she was overwhelmed by the number of youngsters she had to care for. Fantastic find, and I truly do adore it.”
A third person chimed in, saying, “That is very great. nonetheless, it would be difficult to live like that.”
A fourth person commented, “I guess her landlord kicked her out because she was living in here.”
According to the website for American literature, the poem “The Little Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe” was originally composed by Mother Goose in 1794. However, the poem has undergone a number of revisions since that time.
The last sentence of the 1794 edition, which stated that she “whipp’d all their buttocks, and put them to bed,” was changed to “kissing” in the 1901 edition in an apparent gesture to more nurturing approaches to parenting.
Others, on the other hand, maintain that it was always a part of a theme park and that there were never any people living there previously.
